Achieving A Dream: The Founding Of The Montana Engineering Hall Of Fame

The founding of the Montana Engineering Hall of Fame was an incredible accomplishment, realized through the tireless efforts of those dedicated to realizing a dream of honoring the great engineers who have shaped the state and the discipline. Former President of the Montana Society of Engineers (MSE) Mr. Douglas L. Brekke, P.E. served as the driving force in the dream and ultimate realization of the Montana Professional Engineers Hall of Fame.

Doug had the vision to honor those Montana Engineers who have dedicated their knowledge and skill to advancing and improving human welfare. His vision included a space where engineers past, present and future would marvel at the accomplishments of many of their fellow professionals.

Doug worked to secure financial support and enthusiasm for this endeavor through the early 2000s. In 2002 his dream was realized when the college of engineering offered to serve as the permanent host for the newly minted Engineering Hall of Fame on the campus of Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana.

As the Hall of Fame continues to grow and more engineers are honored, the legacy of their commitment to excellence will stand as a testament to the power of honoring greatness. The Montana Engineering Hall of Fame has provided an opportunity for the state and the discipline to recognize outstanding engineers, and the contributions they have made to the state and their chosen field. It is an accomplishment that will continue to be celebrated for many years to come.
